In Their Own Words: Jackie G

"I always feel so much more energized when I leave the gym and am able to chase my kids around and run around the house more so than I would have before!"

I first started coming to RTS about two years ago after having my first child. Originally, my exercise goals were always about dropping pounds, especially when I first joined because I had just had a baby. My workouts had been boring.  They consisted mainly of cardio, running outside, hiking, or going to a “gym” to use the elliptical or treadmill 6 days a week. Honestly, I wanted to lift weights, but I was too nervous to go near the weight room portion of the gym I was a member of and had no clue what I was doing anyways.

RTS has changed the way I work out in several ways.  First of all, I never would have been lifting like I do now if I didn’t step foot into this place.  At first, I was always worried about my form when doing new exercises because I didn’t want to get hurt, since this type of working out was not what my body was used to. But at RTS, the trainers are always watching to make sure I am lifting correctly and always able to answer questions and demonstrate the moves so I can get them right. Not only are the trainers very friendly and helpful, but the members of the gym are so kind and help motivate each other with a familial mentality...I never got that kind of help and attention at any other gym I have been to.

The biggest change I’ve noticed since being at RTS is how much stronger I am.  I have no problem carrying around my children in one arm and being domestic with the other. Now my goals are more tangible, like wanting to be able to do a pull up or 50 pushups.  I realized that the numbers on the scale don’t matter as much as feeling strong and being able to accomplish something.

Before, I felt like I had to workout basically every day in order to achieve any results, but now going to RTS 3-4 times a week, I am totally satisfied with my workouts and feel great!
