In Their Own Words: Dawn M
"I had a new granddaughter, and knew I needed to make changes if I was going to be a part of her life, not just a spectator on the side lines, watching her grow up."
I heard about RTS back in February of 2017. A Facebook friend was always liking their page as she had a daughter who came to RTS for sports training, and one of the posts she “liked” was about a new member challenge they were offering. I was at an all-time low: the heaviest I’d ever been, feeling physically exhausted all the time and experiencing a lot of knee pain. I had a new granddaughter, and knew I needed to make changes if I was going to be a part of her life, not just a spectator on the side lines, watching her grow up.
At the time I signed up at RTS, I belonged to a gym where my workouts were mostly cardio. I knew nothing about weight training, and there was no one to ask for help, especially since I hated drawing attention to myself.
RTS is so different from any gym I’ve ever been a member of. I immediately felt welcome. All the trainers knew me within a couple of visits, and knew what my challenges were. The personalized workout experience along with the nutritional coaching, has made all the difference for me. Working out is no longer something I “have” to do, it has become a priority, something I “want” to do, something I “need” to do! Never saw that coming ☺ All the coaches at RTS make the workouts a lot of fun…hard work, don’t get me wrong, but fun. The hour workout sessions fly by!
The changes were slow at first, didn’t really notice, until all of a sudden, friends were noticing and commenting. Down 35 pounds and 3 sizes. When I look at the “then” and “now” pictures, I can’t believe it! Not bad for a 54 year old grandma!
I feel stronger and healthier than I’ve felt in years! Another positive change that I’m starting to notice now, is that my knee pain is diminishing. I believe the increased muscle and strength in my legs is making a huge difference. Not pain free, but definitely better and on the right track.
My main goal was to lose weight when I started at RTS, which I have done. The confidence I’ve gained and the over-all feeling of being fit and healthy has made me a much happier person, a more valuable employee, and a better mother and grandmother.
